VAUXHALL

I am very proud to announce that Vauxhall Motors are the Official support vehicle suppliers for the 1000 Miles of Parkour. Vauxhall will be supplying a top of the range Antara.

Originally (in terms of support cars) the idea was for me to go completely unsupported all the way to Paris. Just me, my mind and my body. During prepartion it became apparent that things such as change of shoes, bucket loads of nutrition, medical packs, and ice will be required if I am going to be covering 30 miles a day, until I get there. So the message was sent out..

We had difficulty getting hold of a vehicle that would tick all the boxes.  Some cars were fast but not big, some were too big and drank fuel like Ribena, and some only had two seats. We needed one which could stay with me for the entire journey, plan the routes ahead, manage the remote parts of Scotland, and hold all nutrition (top box to be filled to the brim with rice) and navigation equipment for the entire journey. Just before looking into some absolutly mad alternatives, Vauxhall said ‘Hold tight, what about the Antara?’ . It’s the perfect whip for the journey and I have no doubts It will rise to the occasion.

I have had a relationship with Vauxhall for a few years from when I toured the whole of the UK doing a series of underground Parkour workshops for an event called Vauxhall Tribes, so it’s great to be working with them again, especially with the Vauxhall Antara. So jealous of the support driver right now.

It goes without saying that I will still be doing everything on my own, no lifts, no short cuts. The plan is still very much to wake up 7-8am and do Parkour for over a marathon every day, sleep where I stop moving, wake where I stopped, and run in the morning from where I went to sleep.

Here are a few photos of the Anatara at Vauxhall HQ in Luton.
